Sleeper Hit
Henry is in another one of those zones where everyday is something new and exciting. I think about blogging them when I see them, usually I'm lucky to snag a picture. But the photos have been pretty blurry lately because of the aforementioned Go!Go!Go! Syndrome.
Henry has a hard and definitive point! It means, get up off of this sofa and go into the kitchen and get me THAT! No, not that you imbecile. THAA-AAT. And. Tantrum.
Maybe, or maybe he will show you the collection he's made. He's making up collections, first of Berts. He has two: a little Bert and a big Bert. He doesn't know it yet, but he also has a big Ernie to go with his little Ernie. We just have to make it back to the River. Henry also rounded up a group of things that could all be called brushes while we were in the middle of our big spring cleaning (since the snowstorm just wasn't happening). I found a grouping: Mommy's hairbrush, Henry's hairbrush, brush that goes with the dustpan. I should say *suspiciously clean broom that goes with the dustpan*. Hmmm.
Later, Henry emerged from his bath to find me brushing Kirby with his grooming brush. A few minutes later, Kirby had joined Henry on the couch and Henry was brushing him with another pristine dustpan broom. Hmm doesn't anybody in this house ever sweep up?
When we prepared to transition Henry from the bottle to the sippy and eventually the straw cup way back in September, we bought many many cups before shoving them into a bin in disgust, "But... It was ranked FOUR STARS." Ah well, Henry didn't care for them. That is, until last weekend when his pal Sonny came over sporting her sporty straw cup. Suddenly Henry felt his straw and sippy cups were missing something, a certain cachet. They were not as grown up as Sonny's cup! We had a duplicate cup in our cupboard and Henry took to it instantly. Big boy, indeed.
Henry talks into the phone and even recognizes my bluetooth headset as a communications device. He is getting better at the iphone and ipad - nearly has the moon rocket launch sequence finalized. Darn 2nd year molars. holding him back.
Henry is singing along to songs he hears often - that would include: Frere Jacques from me, the ABC's (a favorite during diaper changes), and The Backyardigans theme song. He knows that show so well he starts waving bye-bye at the characters before they go in to have a snack.
He's starting to really get the knack of puzzles and is starting to understand about having a conversation on the phone with people. He actually took his toy phone and had an animated call to Sonny. I don't know how it ended though, he decided to take the call in the other room.
